REGISTRATION DETAILS

INSURANCE: Baggage, cancellation and accident insurance are all recommended. Forms for all three of these kinds of insurance will be sent along with your interim invoice. Return these forms with your check for the insurance you want, directly to the insurance company. The company will insure residents of the USA and Canada only. Residents of countries other than the USA and Canada should see their local travel agent for insurance.

REGISTRATION AND CANCELLATIONS: A completed registration form and a $500 deposit per person constitute registration and will be accepted in order of receipt. Full payment is due three months (90 days prior to departure on receipt of our interim statement: the date will be specified on your interim invoice). If there are any late changes in price or additional charges (e.g. extra hotel nights) payment will be due upon receipt of a final invoice. Refund of deposit, less $100 per person handling fee, will be made if cancellation is received up to 90 days before departure. Since the tour involves considerable administrative and operating expenses, if cancellation is received between 60 and 90 days before departure, the cancellation rate is 50% of the land cost, unless the space is resold. If cancellation is made within 30 days of departure, only those costs which do not have to be paid because of the individual's absence (e.g., air ticket, meals, room or portion thereof) will be refunded. Refund will not be made for expenses which must be paid whether the individual is present or not (e.g., leader's expenses, rental transportation, etc.). All cancellations must be in writing and received within the time specified above. Cancellation insurance is recommended and is available at nominal rates.

Early reservations are urged as the planning for such a trip is extensive and the number of participants is limited.

PAYMENTS: Payments by persons residing outside (even Canada) the USA must take one of the following forms: (1) a US-dollar check on a bank physically located in the USA (not a foreign-located branch of a US bank); or (2) US-dollar denominated International Money Order; or (3) a cable transfer of US dollars to KingBird's account. This is because US bank charges for processing foreign checks have become excessive ($45) and clearance takes 3-8 weeks.

RESPONSIBILITY: KingBird Tours, and/or their agents act only as agents for the passenger in regard to travel, whether by railroad, motorcar, motorcoach, boat or airplane, and assumes no liability for injury, damage, loss, accident, delay, or irregularity which may be occasioned either by reason of defect in any vehicle or for any reason whatsoever, or through the acts or default of any company or person engaged in conveying the passenger or in carrying out the arrangements of the tour. They can accept no responsibility for losses or additional expenses due to delay or changes in air or other services, sickness, weather, strike, war, quarantine, or other causes. All such losses or expenses will have to be borne by the passenger as tour rates provide for arrangements only for the time stated. The right is reserved to substitute hotels of similar category to those specified. The right is reserved to cancel any tour prior to departure, in which latter case, full refund will constitute full settlement to the passenger. No refund will be made for any unused portion of the tour unless arrangements are made in sufficient time to avoid penalties, and there will be no refund for an absence of less than three days unless arrangements are made prior to commencement of the tour. The prices of the tour are based on tariffs and exchange rates in effect at the time of the printing of the itinerary, and are subject to adjustment in the event of any change in tariffs and/or exchange rates. The right is reserved to decline to accept or to retain any person as a member of any tour. In such case, a refund of unused land tour services will be the limit of KingBird's liability. Baggage is at the owner's risk entirely. The signing of KingBird's registration form, and/or of such coupons, exchange orders, receipts, contracts, and tickets by the tour member shall be deemed to be consent to the above conditions. Furthermore, the airlines concerned and their agents and affiliates are not to be held responsible for any act, omission, or event during the time passengers are not on board the aircraft. The passenger ticket in use by said airline, when issued, shall constitute the sole contract between the airline and the purchaser of these tickets and/or the passenger. The services of any I.A.T.A. carrier may be used for these tours, and transportation within the United States may be provided by any member carrier of the Air Traffic Conference of America.
